We feel the crisp winter air and see the lonely, barren structure of the landscape. Yet we know something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show. Each tree, root and bulb holds a piece of summer’s secret waiting to be revealed.
This winter, the SSHN team worked on our second edition of our printed directory. We are very happy to announce the new directories are finished and now being distributed within the region. This project was mainly funded by our advertisers and contributing members. Sticking with our commitment to “go local”, we worked with a local print shop and printed on 100% recycled, made in Washington paper! Now we continue sharing the mission of SSHN and the valuable resource of our local directory of practitioners and green businesses with the wider community. May the coming year be filled with rich blessings of every kind!

How lovely is it that we're able to welcome in this autumn season with such lovely weather. I think it makes for an easy transition to the chilly, wet weather we will soon be getting.

Well, take a look around the website and see what we have to offer. Whether you're a business or just a member of our local community we hope that you find the SSHN website a valuable resource. We have many members offering a variety of services and we even have several articles regarding health.

We're getting close to our deadlines for ad submissions for those of you advertising (members AND non-members). If this is a service you feel would benefit you we encourage you to check out the link to the left entitled "Printed Directory."

Summertime is here and it is has been wonderful! We hope you are out enjoying this fabulous weather, or the cool days in between that help us appreciate the warm days even more. Have you seen our printed directory? If you want to stop by one of our businesses you can pick up one of our directories for free (please call ahead to ensure they have a copy). Soon we will be offering the directory in a pdf file here so you can have your own offline, digital copy to refer to at your leisure or to print.

There are so many exciting things happening in the community right now. Have you seen our booth at the new farmers market on South Hill in Puyallup? Check it out if you have a chance.
We also have so many other events we really encourage you check out our Events Page. We will be celebrating World Breastfeeding Week on August 1st at Wright Park in Tacoma. We also will be lending a hand at the Tacoma Food Co-Op Annual Fundraiser on August 29th also at Wright Park. Check out our Events Page for more details.

Have a great summer!

How much time has flown since we've changed the beautiful website that the talented Sarah Meyer put together for us! It has been fun for me tinkering with what she's come up with. Things are very much coming together and we have more awesome changes we will hopefully see soon.

Another tradition we are beginning is the manifestation of a physical directory. We are working on our first printing currently and are very excited to see this come about. It has most definitely been a learning process and we look forward to many more directories in the years to come.

Don't forget to add your comments and let us know what you think and any sort of ideas you have for the website so that we can do whatever we can to make this be a fabulous web experience.
